Member of Parliament - Grantham & Bourne
  • MP

Elected as Member of Parliament for Grantham and Stamford in December 2019. Since his election, Gareth has met regularly with local businesses, healthcare professionals, head teachers, the police, and local authority leaders to discuss the key priorities for our community.

Gareth has several ongoing campaigns on key issues in our area, including securing further investment in the A1; restoring 24/7 services to Grantham Hospital while pushing for improvements in local GP and other primary healthcare services; promoting, preserving, and protecting our local environment while working with local farmers; supporting local businesses; championing our local schools and colleges; and working with Lincolnshire
Police to keep our area safe.

With the national boundary review coming into force at the next election, Gareth has been selected by local members as the Conservative Party candidate for the new constituency of Grantham and Bourne and is standing for election in the forthcoming general election.

Previously, he worked for a global investment company, in a variety of senior roles based in the UK and the United States. He holds degrees from the University of Nottingham and the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.

Gareth was appointed Exchequer Secretary to the Treasury in April 2023, where his responsibilities include economic growth, energy, and infrastructure. Gareth served on the House of Commons Treasury Committee from 2021 to 2022.

Since 2024, he has served as a shadow minister in His Majesty's Opposition's Treasury team responsible for economic, business, trade and taxation policy.
